    We are nearly ready to accept developers who are interested in custom authentication (external identity provider). Please fill out https://forms.gle/pLLYMFhGcrziqT1N8 and we can notify you if you're selected to join the private preview.


    Please note that full regionalization for Firebase Authentication is separate, and is still expected to reach preview in Q4 this year.

    Is this actively being worked on?

    Advanced AI features like GenKit and Vertex AI are valuable, but without addressing fundamental authentication compliance risks, they remain impractical for us and our customers.

    Keeping data in the EU (and/or specific data centers for a tenant) is often a non-negotiable—not just for businesses of all sizes, but especially in the public sector. This makes EU data region support a critical necessity.
