Yeah, that would actually be a really useful addition. Right now it feels a bit limited if it can’t pull in info from the web directly, especially when you’re working inside something like Firebase Studio where you often need docs, APIs, or examples on the fly. Being able to search and read web pages would make it way more practical, kind of like having docs and Stack Overflow built right in. but there was already on https://router-19216811.com/ you can see it but however Even just basic browsing or link-reading support would go a long way.

yes i agree, however due to security of your app build, this could cause major issues. but there needs to be a work around that the user can choose to allow etc

As this is currently #4 in "Hot" and #9 in "Top", I am taking the liberty of linking to my other critical suggestion in hopes that it will come to the attention of the Gemini-in-Firebase-Studio developers:
Consider Claude Code-style <system-reminder> messages for Gemini: https://firebase.uservoice.com/forums/948424-general/suggestions/50362005-consider-claude-code-style-system-reminder-messa
I've been very frustrated by Gemini's seemingly increasing inability to correctly follow questions including going off track and doing other things. I'd like to bring this article highlighing how Claude Code seems to stay on track better than all its competitors to FS developers' attention, please: https://medium.com/@outsightai/peeking-under-the-hood-of-claude-code-70f5a94a9a62
This Twitter thread shows how this feature provides such a strong competitive advantage: https://x.com/vitransformer/status/1958135188749509016
