Enhanced Git Branch Integration in Prototyping View
Hello Firebase Team,
I'd like to propose a feature enhancement for the Prototyping view in Firebase Studio that would significantly improve the development workflow.
My suggestion consists of two parts:
Current Branch Visibility: Display the name of the active Git branch somewhere visible within the Prototyping UI. This would prevent confusion and eliminate the need to switch back to the terminal or IDE to confirm the current branch.
In-UI Branch Switching: Add a dropdown menu or a similar control that allows developers to quickly switch between their local Git branches directly from the Prototyping view.
Implementing this would streamline the process of testing and comparing different feature branches, making development much more efficient. Thank you for your consideration.

Because we have officially announced the sunsetting of Firebase Studio and are currently focusing on the migration process, we are no longer accepting or implementing new feature requests for this product.
We appreciate your support and understanding as we transition to our next chapter.

Additional idea: make the branches like feature branches (also for chat history), which can be merged to the main branch.
