Preview Display For Non-Web Applications
To be able to show an application running on the Project IDX VM, for example I use c++ and it would be cool to be able to see the applications that I am compiling and building.

Support backend modification or deletion options
Currently, we can create backends, but there is no option to modify imported GitHub repositories. If making such modifications isn't possible, it would be beneficial to at least have the option to delete the backend.

Remote Config for server side
Remote Config is extremely powerful, but to have the same features for server-side feature flagging and A/B testing we have to use something like LaunchDarkly which is a. Expensive b. Another set of SDK & libraries to add to both frontend and backend.
Where Firebase provides remote config, A/B testing, and personalization with the power of Google Analytics and Google's ML capability I think it's obvious Remote config Admin SDK will provide a significant benefit. assign server timestamp in epoch format
adding a function like FieldValue.serverTimestamp() that does the same thing but assigns time in epoch format rather than in normal date time format.
it may be a better choice in order to reduce the data transfer and document collection size.

Support UUID as a data type
I'm using Go client, and at this time UUIDs are represented as array of numbers. This doesn't make any sense and is quite clunky and unergonomic, but this is the client behaviour - the Go type
[16]byteconverts to that, and there is no way to affect it directly.This also means that a list of UUIDs is impossible to represent at all, since a Go slice converts into an array, and Firestore can't handle arrays in arrays. Btw, that by itself is ridiculous, but right now my problem is with UUIDs specifically.

Enterprise version for this platform
Companies should be able to host their own environments and use cloud for development. IDX is perfect for that. Companies, in turn, don't have to provide powerful laptops to developers and use multiple mechanisms to keep the code safe from employee theft. Instead, all code resides on cloud on the company owned instance of IDX and users can work from much more inexpensive chromebooks.
Realtime collaboration features and direct link to gsuite platform to start audio and video calls to discuss code with colleagues would be cool.

Allow "App Nickname" to be an option in the link text generated for email link authentication
Currently there is no way to customize the email sent to users who authenticate via email (deep ?) link. I understand / accept the rational for this.
For Firebase projects with multiple Apps, this leads to all authentication emails having a single title (and link) based on the "public-facing name" set in "Project settings". It would be good to have an option to use the "app nickname" used for each of the Apps within the project to form the basis for the email title + link text. This would give users more confidence that they've received a valid login email…

Targeting all users via App Package Name
FCM must support targeting all users in HTTP v1 API by App Package Name via 'to' parameter in addition to 'topic', 'condition' and 'device token' as like available in FCM console. More suitable targeting parameter may also be added.

More detailed and informational --- like how to improve start up time.
I may be missing on something such as how to filter the feature but this to me is a glorified graph just depicting start_up time that I can grab from anywhere i.e. logcat.

Multi-line strings when A/B testing
In firebase remote config you can have a multi-line string (ie have new lines), but as far as I can tell this isn't possible when setting up the variant in an A/B test this means we can't make small A/B test changes to multi-line text

Make it possible to block/disable services
For security, I would like to be able to completely disable functions in my account. So nothing can be done without an extra authentication (e.g. admin password).
This to prevent large bills due to errors in the software or due to bad actors. Especially since this whole Google Cloud is completely connected to Firebase, the risk of a mistake or a bad actor is higher

Keep Edit History on Reload
Ensure that edit history is retained when the network reconnects or the browser reloads. Accidental history loss can hamper development efficiency, so retaining history on reload would greatly improve dev UX.
