Services like nHost with Hasura, Directus, Supabase, etc. offer Realtime with PostgreSQL. If this feature is added to Firebase Data Connect, Firebase will be the most complete BaaS in the world!

We use CQRS architecture so this is a non-starter. We could spend a few weeks building and testing a web worker/web socket/FCM update system but that would either slow down the client, cost us a lot in compute/network from GCP, or be a headache to maintain (or all 3)

Currently migrating an app from firestore to data connect (type system/safety and auto generated Dart SDK being a BIG reason for that) and loving Data Connect this far!
However we would really need this feature, as polling for changes is no real alternative. -

Realtime updates have now become an essential part of app experience and Firebase is analogous to a real time database, therefore realtime query updates are a must for dataconnect.
