For greenfield projects who started off with Firebase Auth / Firestore or GCP, the benefit of having an option to MVP a Data Connect solution with existing data and experiment more consolidated READ and/or WRITE access patterns is huge.
Not to mention this enables a clear migration path to continue using Firestore and/or with extra CloudSQL.

I was hoping this would be prio, this combo removes almost all reasons not to use Firebase, most arguments on why not to use Firebase vs whatever (e.g. supabase) would not be valid anymore

e.g, I would like to have a list of pizza restaurants in my firestore backend, and with just one plugin via firestore extensions, allow users to say for example, "which pizza restaurant has fried eggplant" and have those restaurants appear in some sort of FirestoreQueryBuilder widget :) im using flutter :)

I was contemplating on using BigQuery to stream changes from firestore just for the relational aspect. With this I don't have to do that anymore.

We have a very strict Firestore schema, and currently replicate it to BigQuery in realtime. A more native solution via a Datasource for Firestore would be extremely beneficial to our team
