More space for IDX projects 100GB
We can't complete a basic yarn install our monorepo at work. We run into the following error.
ENOSPC: no space left on device
While trying to complete the yarn install. I've returned several times to the IDX project and have finally given up trying to do practical work for our live production projects with IDX as we can't even install our packages at work to get our projects running. What an absolute collosal waste of time.
Please for the love of christ increase the project capacity so we can get our commercial projects running in IDX.

So many users are complaining since a year and such a critical basic feature is taking google a year to implement! You are missing the bus , so many have moved to replit etc due to this .

Currently blocked on development for a Next.js app running on Firebase Studio IDE due to the non-upgradable 10 GB workspace storage limit (specifically for the /home directory).
This fixed limit is severely hindering the use of the IDE for production-scale applications, as large projects easily exceed 10 GB.
Urgent Request: We need an option to increase this 10 GB limit (e.g., via the Blaze plan) or a significant increase to the default storage capacity.
Please address this crucial bottleneck to make Firebase Studio IDE viable for serious app development.

I have been working on a commercial next js application on FIrebase Studio IDE and as the app has grown, I have faced the 10 GB limit issue these days. There is no option to upgrade this 10GB or change this default limit. Please look into it at the earliest as this limit of 10GB is actually limiting the usage of Firebase IDE as a production ready app builder. Let me know if you need any more details regarding this request.

Yeah, the exact same thing happened to me!!, I was working on my project, unaware of the storage limits, and thankfully, I made a duplicate before I ran out of storage, but even with that I hit a wall where I can’t do anything else now to my project….. I just got no more disk space available…. And everything starts malfunctioning and only getting server errors or 404 pages because of it…. It’s stupid they give you a lot of gigabytes for everything else but not for other parts that you need more storage for. I’ve tried everything to get more space, clearing, unused libraries, etc but nothing has worked…. This 10GB crud is so ridiculous….. I don’t understand the limits, and I don’t understand why they didn’t make a way to up the storage limits. Can’t say that don’t have enough server space, it’s owned by Google. Lol

I'm having the same kind of issues, and unfortunately, the support team is not being very helpful.
My own code is only 8.8MB in size, but there is a .emu directory for an emulator that I can't remove ( 5.2GB )
Not sure why that emulator is there while my project is a web application -

This is very important and I continuously run into errors upon running a simple script. There is no more space to do any actual dev work.

This issue has basically made me hit a dead wall. Unless there is a solution to this issue, I won't be able to make any more changes to my project. This is highly critical.

I have a similar issue and running into another as well I would also like the size of the home/user directory to be larger as well.

Plus 1 for me as well. Its practically unusable. I find it hard to believe there is nothing to do and it be left in the dark on this issue.

This issue is freezing the whole environment because the back end IDX Disc space i.e. Ephemeral drive or SDB/SDA drive is "Read Only" access for the firebase team or users.... We cannot delete catched data which is filling up due to the emulators closing and opening creating new instances each time.... this needs to be fixed my business is effected!!! CRITICAL.

I can just agree. i don't understand why it just has 21 votes? I cannot build an APK, I cannot work with on-device AI in apps. I will need to switch back to local if that doesn't change. I love Firebase Studio, but we need more storage.

Space Management would be ideal to track storage, and be able to upgrade either through google one or other

I am agreed on this. no doubt this project is great, but i am not even able the start my project just because of no space left.
