Automatic GraphQL schema from existing SQL schema
When onboarding an existing postgres database, Data Connect can read the postgres schema and attempt to generate a corresponding GraphQL schema. Users with existing databases can immediately benefit from Data Connect client SDKs, query based auth, and connector connection pooling without manually writing GraphQL that matches their database schema.

Delivery logging in iOS
Does anyone know why Firebase doesn't support notification delivery on iOS? This is supported by other messaging frameworks such as OneSignal by hooking into Notification Service Extensions.
Firebase does have a FIRMessagingExtensionHelper class which has an
exportDeliveryMetricsToBigQuerymethod — however I didn't see references to this in the docs, how it should be used, or whether it suits my needs. The ideal scenario is that Firebase can just report iOS delivery rates in the console. It's confusing to me why this is not made simple, and if anyone has some insight here it would be much appreciated.

Add more auth built-in auth methods
The way that Firebase helps developers quickly setup OAuth providers is amazing, but it would be really helpful if there were more providers to choose from. I'm sure you could do it if you set things up yourself, but making it easier to use services like LinkedIn would be really helpful.

The errors thrown for a wrong password and an account that does not exist should be different
This is a problem I have encountered while using Firebase with Swift. I want to be able to prompt the user to sign up if they do not have an account. However, the error returned from Auth.auth().signIn(withEmail, password) is the same if the user enters the wrong password or an email the doesn't exist. If the errors were different I would be able to show the sign up prompt only if that specific error is thrown.

Support Functions on App Hosting
Firebase Functions don't seem to be well supported in App Hosting. At least if you are using Typescript in the functions, the deploy process runs into an error in the build step. It seems to be because "npm run build" runs Typescript checking everywhere, and the dependencies in functions/package.json haven't been installed.
A user on Stack Overflow who asked about this ended up working around it by setting tsconfig.json to ignore the functions directory. They also have to do a manual deploy of the functions, because apparently the App Hosting deploy process doesn't do it.
Ideally everything should just work;…

C# Blazor SDK
Firestore has an C# SDK for unity. It would be nice if the C# SDK supported .NET Standard or .NET Core without any interop in C++ so that it could be used within Blazor WASM web applications.

Better Composite Indexes UI
Currently, table for Composite Indexes is hard to read, I have some suggestions:
1. Sort collection ID alphabetically
2. Group by collection ID
3. On Fields Indexed, remove "name"
4. Shorten "Ascending" to "Asc" and "Descending" to "Desc"
5. Fields shown in Fields Indexed column should be displayed vertically2 votes -
Support a repl/shell in firebase CLI
Some operations can only be preformed through the firebase-admin SDK, or sometimes you just want to run/test some Firestore query.
The Firebase CLI can provide a "shell" command that opens a Node.js REPL with the firebase-admin SDK preconfigured and global variables such as "db", "auth" that you can then use to interact with Firebase.
This was so much needed that I implemented this by myself in our project as a custom package.json scripts.

Support skipping deploy targets that are configured empty
Sometimes you have deploy target that you want to not deploy in some projects.
Currently if a deploy target is not configured or empty, the CLI will error.
It would be nice if it just skipped deploying that configuration if the deploy target is explicitly configured empty.
This is also useful to allow varying configuration in different projects, as you can deploy different target configurations depending on the selected project this way.

Share phone number with project if Firebase knows that number via another project
Would be a HUGE cost saver given the increased pricing of SMS multi factor authentication.
If Firebase knows the phone number / email via another project, offer the app user to share their phone number with this app and skip costly SMS verification.

What feature would you like to see?
I would like to see Firebase add official support for the Linux platform. This enhancement would allow developers to build applications that leverage Firebase services natively on Linux, enabling broader platform compatibility and empowering Linux-based applications. Why would it be useful?
Adding Linux support would:Enable developers to integrate Firebase services directly into Linux-based applications.
Provide parity with other supported platforms (e.g., iOS, Android, Web).
Open up Firebase's powerful features (e.g., authentication, cloud storage, Firestore) to a growing user base on Linux desktop and server environments.2 votes -

Geohashing examples for firestore Python Admin SDK
I have read this article https://firebase.google.com/docs/firestore/solutions/geoqueries in mentions cool examples on how to implement Geohashes, but I can't find python examples. Is there a recommended way of implementing geohashes on Firebase Admin SDK for python?
