  3. Support SSR from frameworks like Nextjs in the SDK. Currently, the web sdk can only be used in client side components, severely complicating the codebase vs something like supabase which has support already baked in

  4. In Firebase Firestore rules, we currently have various controls and functions, which are very handy. However, array management is not optimal. I propose introducing a map function for arrays in Firebase Firestore rules. This function would allow us to map arrays of objects, significantly simplifying the creation and management of rules.

  5. I would like to understand a query using Query Explain. It would be easier to have the option to use Query Explain via the Firebase Console instead of code with the SDKs (also requires to set up the credentials, etc.).

  7. Currently, the screen rendering trace tool displays a list of issues, but with many items, it becomes overwhelming to sift through and identify the most significant problems.

    Specific Challenges

    • Volume of Data: With many items in the trace list, manually identifying high-impact issues is impractical.
    • Lack of Prioritization: The current list does not prioritize issues based on their impact, making it difficult to focus on what matters most.
    • Efficiency: Developers need a way to quickly pinpoint and address the most significant rendering issues to improve application performance.

    Proposed Solution

    Introduce an "Impact Sort" option in the screen rendering trace tool.…

  8. Allow Firebase App Hosting to host static files app, similar to Firebase Hosting.

    This would allow any web framework to work with App Hosting (without server-side rendering) without official support from App Hosting.

  10. So I did give a testflight to Project IDX and I found out that it quite fails when using react starter with typescript.

    I started converting counter to todo app and it gave answers in typescript but it should've noticed the file being .tsx so it should give suggestions in typescript over javascript.

  11. Certainly! Below is a template you can use to request adding Serverpod to the Google Cloud Index (IDX) platform. Customize it with specific details or additional information as needed:

    Subject: Request to Add Serverpod to Google Cloud Index (IDX) Platform

    I am writing to request the addition of Serverpod to the Google Cloud Index (IDX) platform. Serverpod is a robust backend framework designed specifically for Dart, leveraging the power of Flutter for its user interface. Given its features and compatibility with modern development practices, I believe it would be a valuable addition to the Google Cloud ecosystem.

  12. I use Dart on the server, via Serverpod. I would love to be able to record server exceptions to Crashlytics, but right now the Dart support for Crashlytics only works in Flutter, because it relies on the Android and iOS native API support. Dart servers don't/can't run Flutter. There is no REST API for Crashlytics, so the Flutterfire developers can't support pure Dart (I asked them). Can you please add a pure Dart API for Crashlytics, and/or provide a REST endpoint?

  17. I am currently using firebase/firestore from react native. Currently

    import { firebase } from "@react-native-firebase/firestore";

    const rc = firebase.firestore().useEmulator("192.168.1.130", 8080);

    Ideally I would like rc=False if the emulator is not up.

  18. Have global keys and config for git without log in every time you make a new project, also bumping the custom git configuration. Then you can one-click import repos from any git server configured.
