Allow to assign tags to Firestore databases
With multi-db support in Firestore now launched, this enabled many possibilities but also requires more granular inventory management of the databases created.

For compliance reasons and for better management of your cloud assets, it's important to assign metadata to your cloud resources.
Especially for storage services, this is important, as it allows you to track which resources contain PII, who owns them, etc.--
Attaching this kind of data is typically done using tags in Google Cloud.

Allow to attach IAM permissions to databases
With multi-db support in Firestore now launched, this enabled a ton of new features, though the way permissions are granted is not ideal.

Instead of being able to attach permissions to individual databases, you have to use conditional IAM permissions on a project level.

This leads to problems when you want to grant IAM permissions to employees with access to only a subset of databases.
Granting a subset of databases to access will prevent them from using the Firebase / Google Cloud console, as they will not have permission to view all databases.--

Add an argument that automatically chunks cloud function deployments according to the maximal possible quota
When deploying multiple cloud functions at once via
firebase deploy --only functionswe frequently run into quota issues like:
functions: got "Quota Exceeded" error while trying to update projects/.... Waiting to retry...
It never retries though.
It would make it way easier if you could add an argument to the deployment command like:

There should be an easy way to get a specific document by index in a query:

CORS Error with GoogleIDX in Express.js Project
'm encountering a CORS error when using GoogleIDX in my Express.js project. My application can't access https://workstations.cloud.google.com/devshell/gateway/oauth due to CORS restrictions.
Enabling CORS on the server is preferred over a proxy server. I'm using express and cors with the following code (example provided if needed).
I've also tried adding the Access-Control-Allow-Origin header but without success.
Could you investigate and suggest solutions?

Using latest express and cors versions.

FirebaseServerApp Pass Bundle to Client
There needs to be a way in the Firebase SDK to pass the server information to the client cache without incurring another read (like you do with Firebase Admin SDK) using the load bundle functions.
This will save reads, save money, and be faster.

Authorize GitHub for VS Code only on a specific repository and not all
I tryed to have my project on Github using the Soure Control (⌃⌘G) of IDX.
It looks easy and friendly but when it comes to authorizing VSC it doesn't let me select a specific repository instead it wants access all the organizations almost with full rights.
Would it be possible to select a specific repository to give authorization to?
Steps being in a workspace:
1. Source Control (⌃⌘G)
2. Initialize Repository
3. Commit
4. Publish Branch
5. The extension 'GitHub' wants to sign in using GitHub. (Allow)
6. Continue...The repository is within an organization that I own.

Firestore : Throw error access data with offline cache without enable persistence
When retrieving documents from Firebase's Firestore on the web, if you attempt to read the value from the cache, it will return an empty result.
This seems to be an issue because Firestore's database does not use offline data when accessed from the web by default.
To make developers aware of this, should throw some error if Firestore's database is set to not use offline data, and attempting to read the cache value.

Upload from local file store (or anywhere)
Current file import options limited to github (and ssh). Ability to navigate local directories, net mount points, cloud storage blobs and URLs would be epic!
A+ so far, cannot wait until Project IDX public launch ;)

Multi-line strings when A/B testing
In firebase remote config you can have a multi-line string (ie have new lines), but as far as I can tell this isn't possible when setting up the variant in an A/B test this means we can't make small A/B test changes to multi-line text

Security key/WebAuthn 2FA
Currently, we only have the option to use TOTP 2fa or SMS. Security keys are quickly gaining popularity, as it is a more secure option. Please add this.

Tell people that mixing V1 and V2 config files in the same project will create a port and container error.
Tell people that mixing V1 and V2 config files in the same project (note: even outside the gen2 function) will create a port and container error. Right now you don't mention in the docs or anywhere that having ANY function.config files in a project with a gen 2 function will cause a deploy error that says a container is broken and the port is unreachable. This error is misleading. It will also show the gen 2 function in the console as "unknown trigger" which also is misleading.
In all your documentation you say you can have gen1 and gen2 functions…

Expose createTime & updateTime in scheduled Firebase LevelDB exports
I am using this procedure for regular backups: https://firebase.google.com/docs/firestore/solutions/schedule-export
and some tooling to locally analyze data in the resulting (downloaded) LevelDB backups.The Admin SDK exposes (internally, but still) createTime, readTime and updateTime properties on snapshots. I don’t see these properties included in the database exports; which makes them less complete as backups, and less useful for data analysis.
