1. Multi-line strings when A/B testing

   In firebase remote config you can have a multi-line string (ie have new lines), but as far as I can tell this isn't possible when setting up the variant in an A/B test this means we can't make small A/B test changes to multi-line text

3. Make it possible to block/disable services

   For security, I would like to be able to completely disable functions in my account. So nothing can be done without an extra authentication (e.g. admin password).

   This to prevent large bills due to errors in the software or due to bad actors. Especially since this whole Google Cloud is completely connected to Firebase, the risk of a mistake or a bad actor is higher

6. Skip Build/Deployment Based on Commit Message

   Would it possible to implement skipping build/deployment based on commit message? I know for Cloud Build you can include [skip ci] or [ci skip] in the commit message and a build won't trigger, but based off a quick test this doesn't apply to AppHosting builds.

9. Replace collection with new set of documents as an atomic operation

   Many time, we have a collection that is created using data received from an API call and the collection needs to be reset to the new data received in the next API call. For e.g., I have a collaborative app. Each user can see who else in their address-book using the app, such that they can collaborate with them. I send the phone contacts to the backend and we check which contacts and using the app and initialize the contacts collection. The phone contacts are synched every day. The next day, when we get the phone contacts, I want simply find out who is using the app and replace the contacts collection with that data without finding out who was already present in the contacts collection, which contact data has changed and which contacts is no longer there. Currently, if I delete the collection and then recreate with new set of documents, the realtime update listener is triggered with empty collection causing unwanted behavior in the app.

10. SSR support in the sdk

    Support SSR from frameworks like Nextjs in the SDK. Currently, the web sdk can only be used in client side components, severely complicating the codebase vs something like supabase which has support already baked in

11. Improve firestore explorer UI - it is too small

    The UX when reading large objects in the firestore explorer UI requires too much scrolling in small windows to find the information you are after. I'd propose to:

    Note: "window" here refers to where the container where the data of a document can be found or alternatively where all the collection can be found. So the firestore explorer contains usually, a collection window, a document window, (a sub collections window, a document window,...).

    • collapse maps by default, or collapse maps if the object is larger than the current window. When dealing with large objects it's currently annoying to find the information by scrolling.
    • make the explorer bigger or add a button to have the explorer as full screen. Currently takes only half the space available on a 15 inch screen.
      • when you have a subcollection and you are watching a document in this sub collection, the collections and documents are aligned vertically. It would be nice to have a handle to be able to resize which of the sub collection or document take more vertical space.

13. Explain the format of the Firestore rules (and indexes) in firebase.json

    At https://firebase.google.com/docs/cli?authuser=0#the_firebasejson_file, the firebase.json examples mention the Firestore rules like this:

    "rules": "firestore.rules",

    "indexes": "firestore.default.indexes.json"

    What exactly is "firestore.rules"? A reserved string? An ID (pointing to what)? A filename (in what format)?

15. Remote Config fetch data from only selected groups

    Current data fetch is not filtered at query level and all of your config fetches to your frontend. This means for example, IOS app fetches IOS, Android and Web config if all apps fall under the same project.

20. Add functionality to increase sampling rate

    It would be awesome if we can see more sessions data in firebase as compared to how many samples are been generated. The current sessions data is generated at the rate off 1%, and if we can manipulate the same, it will be great
