   Add a file to the project to store important instructions and application rules. The user can ask the AI to add new ones or update existing ones. This way, the AI reads this file every time a change is made to comply with the rules and not destroy the elements already created.

3. Local (or GitHubActions) build and deploy

   Currently, the only option is the Cloud Run build, why not to add the possibility of doing a local build and deploy the dist files...Very useful for GitHub Actions also.

4. It would be nice if there were a way to roll back to a state when the application was working.

   I would find it helpful to be able to roll back when needed to a state where the app in development functioned. Particularity useful when trying to add features that stall out and break the app.

5. Allow ordering functions when they are displayed in firebase console.

   As a non-expert user, I am trying to avoid navigating the Google Cloud Console ("GCC") when possible (which should be understandable since that is largely the point of Firebase). So when an internal error in one of my functions occurs, I go to the firebase console, find the relevant function and then select "see logs" which takes me the to the precise place in GCC. The issue is that the function in the Firebase console seem to be displayed in random order with no way of ordering them... so it is always a pain to scan through them to find the one I'm looking for.

8. Suggesting to show manual commits in the AI mode history of the Studio

   I've been playing a lot with the Firebase Studio for the last couple of weeks, and sometimes I dive into the code to manually adjust things.

   The problem is that when I go back to the AI mode, those manual commits are not visible in the history, and when rolling back later in the history, I end up removing them inadvertently.

   It would be a great improvement to have the manual commits visible in the history, so that when rolling back, one can be sure not to remove their manual work.

10. Make console information visible in Prototyper

    Right now, when something isn't working, I have to switch back to the code mode to see any console errors.
    It takes a lot of time to keep switching between code and prototype mode.
    It would be great if we could see the console messages in the prototype mode.

11. Automated testing after changes

    In our web project, we have a large number of tests implemented ( Jest )
    After the prototyper makes changes, we have to manually go to the code part and run the tests on the terminal shell.
    It would be great if we could somehow trigger them or, after any changes, it could run them automatically.

14. Code view from the home page/listing page

    Need to be able to drop into the code view directly. To recover from fatal errors.

    Also a way to access and rollback to previous versions, without accessing the studio.

17. Make the AI Assistant Aware of the Current UI Mode (Preview vs. Code)

    The Problem:

    Currently, the AI assistant (Buddy) in Firebase Studio is unaware of whether the user is in "Preview Mode" or "Code Mode".

    This leads to inefficient and sometimes confusing interactions. For example, when the AI asks the user to check server logs, the user might be in Preview Mode where the terminal is not visible. This requires a back-and-forth conversation where the user has to state they can't see the logs, and the AI then has to explain how to switch to Code Mode to find the terminal.

    This entire exchange could be avoided if the AI had context about the user's current view.

    Proposed Solution:

    Please provide the current UI mode (e.g., "viewmode": "preview" or "viewmode": "code") as part of the context sent to the AI assistant with each user message.

    With this context, the AI could provide much more intelligent and direct guidance:

    If the user is in Preview Mode: "Okay, first, please switch to Code Mode using the button at the top, then check the terminal at the bottom for any new logs."
    If the user is in Code Mode: "Okay, please check the terminal at the bottom of your screen for new logs and tell me what you see."
    This small change would significantly streamline the user-AI workflow, reduce friction, and accelerate the debugging process. Thank you for considering this improvement.

    I'm a regular user of Firebase Studio and truly appreciate the innovative approach of using generative AI for app development. I see huge potential here.

    However, I've noticed a gap in the user experience between the "easy app creation by talking" aspect of Firebase Studio and the "real-world development" requirements when integrating with cloud services like Firestore. Specifically, the current behavior where AI-edited firestore.rules don't reflect in the Studio's preview is causing confusion and adding friction.

    To bridge this gap and provide an optimal development experience for a wider range of users, I'd like to propose the introduction of two distinct modes in Firebase Studio:

    1. Basic Mode

    This mode would be ideal for programming beginners or those looking to rapidly prototype ideas.

    • Goal: Focus on UI/UX creation and simple interactions without deep cloud service integration.
    • Characteristics:
      • No direct integration with cloud services like Firestore or Authentication, or only with very limited dummy data for quick trials.
      • Users can concentrate on building app structure without getting into complex backend settings or security rule concepts.
    • Expected Outcome: Users can fully experience the core strength of Firebase Studio ("create apps by talking") without unnecessary friction, perfect for demos and rapid prototyping.

    2. Advanced Mode

    This mode would cater to users with some development experience who intend to build robust, production-ready applications using Firebase services like Firestore, Authentication, etc.

    • Goal: Provide a seamless and efficient workflow for serious application development.
    • Characteristics:
      • Enhanced, seamless integration with the Firestore Emulator.
        • For example: An option to switch the preview directly to an emulator connection, or a feature to instantly validate AI-edited firestore.rules using the emulator within the Studio UI.
      • Clear guidance on required knowledge: Explicitly state that certain knowledge of Authentication, data structures, security, and Cloud Functions is necessary.
      • Improved guidance on deployment processes and production environment management.
    • Expected Outcome:
      • Users can instantly and reliably validate AI-generated rule changes, enhancing trust in the AI and the overall development process.
      • A more integrated and efficient workflow for serious app development.
      • Users can choose the mode best suited to their skill level and objectives, avoiding unnecessary complexity.

    Current Challenge (Context for the Proposal)

    Currently, when the generative AI edits firestore.rules, the Firebase Studio preview doesn't reflect these changes because it connects to the live Firestore, not the local emulator. This creates confusion for users who expect to see immediate results and forces them to manually set up and use a local emulator for testing. This gap—where AI-modified content cannot be directly verified within the environment where the AI is used—is a significant UX challenge.

    I believe this proposal would significantly enhance Firebase Studio's utility and developer experience, making the AI features even more powerful and user-friendly.
