  2. In firebase remote config you can have a multi-line string (ie have new lines), but as far as I can tell this isn't possible when setting up the variant in an A/B test this means we can't make small A/B test changes to multi-line text

  4. Hi Team,
We are supporting our services in Sudan also, but the country is not listed in remote config country list.
How to provide country specific config to Sudan?

    Thanks & Regards,
    Ram

  5. It's incredible how complex you made Firebase, because of the link with Google Cloud. Firebase used to be an easy solution, but it's all soo overly complex that I don't trust any of it.

Maybe I will suddenly get a large bill because I made a mistake, or the configuration is bad. It's really annoying. Your service has gone from an easy to use cloud solution to a complete mess of configuration annoyances, security angst, complex issues.

The documentation is overly complex. You loop around in al the options. And everything refers to Google Cloud again.

    Nothing is easy with…

  6. For security, I would like to be able to completely disable functions in my account. So nothing can be done without an extra authentication (e.g. admin password).

This to prevent large bills due to errors in the software or due to bad actors. Especially since this whole Google Cloud is completely connected to Firebase, the risk of a mistake or a bad actor is higher

  7. I saw this on the documentation website: "Note: The limits for email link sign-in emails were recently changed. Please add a billing instrument to go beyond 5 email link sign-in emails."

It's really strange that you quietly set the limit of sign-in emails to 5. Why? It makes no sense. For testing it's too low, and for production of course.

First you hook developers up to Firebase and then you quietly lower the limits. Good business practices.

  9. Recently, we have got many Full-Stack and Frontend Web Frameworks of Python.
    - General Purpose Frameworks like Reflex, FastHTML, Anvil, Streamlit, and Flet can work for Mobile Apps.
    - Rather Data-Oriented Frameworks like Dash, Gradio-Lite,...
    - With Mesop, Google seems targeting Streamlit. Then, Google Web Toolkit was made OSS, "GWT."
    - Reflex is capitalized by Y-Combintor, etc.
    - And many other frameworks, Pyodide, ReactPy...
    - some of them are finally compiled into JS/TS Frameworks, but we can code all by Python.

This very hot movement means the shift of value-adding area is going to Gen AI-centric field usually Python deployed,…

  15. IaaC (infrastructure as a code) is a core component of DevOps, and Project IDX could aid in the growth of talent in that sector by guiding best practice for IaaC projects with templates for the major open-source frameworks on the market. Additionally, IDX support could ease the learning curve for new developers working with YAML and Jinja2 syntax, both of which are very common in these frameworks. If possible, integration with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) to quickly configure a project to connect to and work with a GCP project could be mutually beneficial for IDX and GCP in the form…

  18. Recently there was the inclusion of remote config rollouts. Rollouts were introduced to the REST API documentation under the RemoveConfigParameterValue as seen here: https://firebase.google.com/docs/reference/remote-config/rest/v1/RemoteConfig#RemoteConfigParameterValue.

But the same isn't true for the Firebase-admin package https://firebase.google.com/docs/reference/admin/node/firebase-admin.remote-config.md#remoteconfigparametervalue.

Would be interesting to have the types that are now available under the rest api to also be available on server side libraries so the usage of rollouts wouldn't impact current implementations that make usage of firebase-admin

  19. IDX is very nice and well built. Are the themes and components that IDX use available for use in applications?

It would be nice to have a designer to drag and drop Angular components from a palette and have it automagically generate the components. It would also make sense to allow us to use our own components in the palette.

Also along these lines, it would be nice if such a designer would allow you to connect @Input and @Output between elements and other services through an interface resembling a "patchbay" in the audio recording software world. So you could…

  20. There may be a way to build a custom template, but from the very beginning there should be the ability to change certain settings.

For my particular case, I wanted to build an Angular project using the old modules, and I wish I could select scss from the beginning. I might not have yet found how to do it, but couldn't some common options be available at project creation time?

Or at the very least, a button that says "customize this template" that takes you to a guide or a graphical interface to twiddle with different aspects of the template.
