Allow field selections in client sdk's
Let's say I have an orders collection where each document represents a customer order.
I would like to be able to fetch and listen to only the names and dates of all orders and not get the whole document.
This would speed up a lot queries where not all fields are required and save bandwidth for users.
Since selection is already present in some server side SDK's I wonder if this could be enabled with a somewhat manageable effort.

Support TypeScript in Cloud Functions
It's a pain to have to configure a process to watch and transpile TypeScript files to use in the emulator. Firebase CLI should have built-in support for it both in the emulator (with automatic watching, or on-the-fly transpilation as I showed here https://github.com/firebase/firebase-tools/issues/5633#issuecomment-1622585432) and when deploying.

Support for getting values stored in user properties
The functionality to get values currently stored in user properties at runtime would be extremely useful.
Something like "mFirebaseAnalytics.getUserProperty("favorite_food");"This would allow checking values and correcting them when necessary, as well as recovering information that may have been lost between one session and another of the application.

Page for shortcuts
Having a dedicated page to look after all the available shortcuts like a cheat sheet will be very helpful to improve productivity for example in the case of Flutter listing down all the supported shortcuts in a single page eg
- stful - Create StatefulWidget 2.stless - Create StatelessWidget
etc

Add Support for common ML and Data analysis workloads
Development around Machine Learning and/or tools for performing ML should also be considered well, specifically around building tools for ML which do not directly involve training (such as experiment tracking, data analysis, etc.)

Review the revoke token from apple functionality
I'm implementing a Login with Apple and everything went smooth until I had to delete the account. According to Apple guidelines I need to revoke the token. However, in the Firebase documentation it says I should implement the following:
Auth.auth().revokeToken(withAuthorizationCode: authCodeString)
But the revokeToken method is no longer available. I haven't found yet a way to do it.
Thanks,
Jose

API Project Support
If you are building a backend API, we would like Project IDX to support creating them across popular endpoints. We would also like to explore integration with services like Postman to make testing these endpoints easier.

Global Installation of Common Build Tools
Various scripts in a project may require build tools like pnpm, npm, gacutil, etc. to be present globally to help build and run the code in your project. Today, Project IDX doesn’t support global installations.

Support Multiple Projects/Folders
You may have separate projects (with their own build process, etc.) that you still want to see and control from inside the same workspace. This type of project structure is one we want to better support.
90 votesWe are actively discussing how to best address this. Stay tuned for some updates here.
In the interim, please comment on what kind of project(s) you are working in what other tools you have found that do a good job here.
